Profile

Matthew completed his first Newspaper work experience placement when he was 15 years old with the regional newspaper Newbury Weekly News, returning again at 17 for further work. Whist studying for a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing he completed two additional placements with the Reading Evening Post and The Independent on Sunday. In his final year of University Matthew completed a Journalism degree module and fulfilled the role of Assistant Editor of Seren, the University Student Newspaper.

After graduating with a 2:1, Matthew joined CfBT Education Trust; an international education consultancy and service organisation and one of the UK 's largest charities. Working on a national teacher training programme, he coordinated Key Skills training events in England . After progressing to a Business Development role within the organisation, Matthew coordinated bids for national education programmes in the UK and overseas, where he contributed to the writing and editing of bid proposals.

Matthew currently works for Foster Wheeler in Reading where he proof-reads, edits and formats documents for a major Australian construction project.
